Gematria : The Numbers In Your Dreams

Since Pythagoras, individuals have attributed meaning to numbers – which is known as numerology. Since their development, numbers have held an almost magical place in our mind. They hold no less secret in our dreams. 

In the ancient Hebrew tradition of Gematria (or Gimatria) a word or phrase is assigned a numeric value. The conviction was/is that words or phrases with the same values bear some relation to each other, or to the number itself. To decide a word's numeric value, each letter of the alphabet was assigned an individual value (see table underneath) based on the occasions each letter appeared in the Scriptures. 

In the medieval mystical content called Sefer Yitzirah - The Book of Creation-the letters of the alphabet are depicted as "the stones used to construct a house." This fundamental features the confidence in the essential relationship between letters, words and creation.

In non-Jewish traditions, less emphasis is placed on the spiritual or biblical meaning of a number/letter than in the Hebrew framework, and many distinctive frameworks have developed throughout the years with their very own strategies for deciding a letter/number value and meaning.

A Common Pregnancy Dream

The other day I was a visitor on the morning appear on WNCY in Green Bay WI with my old radio mate Bear. His co-have Charlie is expecting and had an irritating dream that her baby was conceived without a face! Naturally, this dream disturb her a considerable amount and was actually what incited them to book me. 

Because of the substance of the dream I suspected this was her first pregnancy... beyond any doubt 'nuff, it is! 

I assured her that it's extremely regular to have this dream when you are pregnant the first run through... and it is caused by imaptience! She's eager to see that baby! What is it going to resemble? WHO will it take after?? I wanna know already!! In any case, the dreaming mind says, not a chance. You will have to wait til it's done cooking, lady. Charlie was very soothed and agreed entire heartedly that she's never been so impatient for something in her life!
